Technically, this week’s Artist Spotlight is not just about one artist – but two. After hearing their song “Rise and Fall” in two network commercials, we immediately fell in love with Cait’s voice, the acoustic background and the bonus of hearing TJ in the track.
Of course, we had to know more about these two and did some searching. We discovered that these two are independent artists who embarked on a musical collaboration just this year and released a couple of songs. Separately, they are known as TJ Stafford and Caitlin Parrot, but together, they call themselves TJ and Cait.
“The Calling” is one of their songs featured in both True Blood and Sons of Anarchy promos, while their song “Rise and Fall” is featured in the Hunger Games and The Originals promos. TJ and Cait’s voices definitely go well together and sound incredible with the acoustic background.
Born in Kansas but raised in Southern California, TJ’s musical background goes way back at an early age. He began taking guitar lessons at the age of five and has been musically inclined since. Today, he has had recent successes especially with his recent collaboration with Cait. When asked about his music, he is more on acoustic tunes although he can easily segue into pop, bluegrass, or even hip-hop.
On the other hand, Cait considers her music more on the folk and pop genre. She is from California and has been around in the industry for a few years now and has several songs released like “Don’t Cry,” “Infatuation”, “Let Go,” “The Preacher’s Son,” and “What It’s Like.”
With the collaboration of TJ and Cait, fans definitely have a lot to look forward to. There is no doubt about it that this incredible duo makes great music together and we hope this collaboration lasts a while. Can’t wait for more music these two have in store for us.
